Best Books of 2014 Chosen by Our Book Club

2014 Book of the Year

The reading list this year was underwhelming, so it was a vote for the one that we disliked less. The winner was Alexa’s choice A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki.

Our personal favourites for the year were,

Alexa:  Dept. of Speculation by Jenny Offill.

Claudia: My Struggle Books 1, 2 and 3 by Karl Ove Knausgaard.

Denise: An Inconvenient Genocide by Geoffrey Robertson.

Di: The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling.

Janet: Nest by Inga Simpson.

Kim: The Unexpected Professor by John Carey.

Nicola: Lila by Marilynne Robinson.

Penny: Martini: a Memoir by Frank Moorhouse

Viv: Nest by Inga Simpson.
